The UN’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and the empowerment of women, the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) Session is launched for the 67th time this March 6 in New York (USA) until March 17, 2023. The theme chosen for this edition is: “Innovation and technological change, and digital education, to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”. On this occasion, XOESE, the Fund for Francophone Women will host a parallel session on March 10, 2023 from 4 p.m. (GMT).

Offering a unique chance to shape the digital future of women and girls for the better is the goal that CSW 67 has set itself. Indeed, over the next two weeks, governments, organizations in the civil society, experts and activists from around the world will gather at UN Headquarters, to address the challenges and explore the enormous potential that technology holds for the empowerment of all women and girls.  How to join CSW 67 on the dedicated platform?

The contribution of XOESE, the Fund for Francophone Women at #CSW67

First, it is with great pleasure that we announce the physical participation of the President of the XOESE Fund, Mrs. Massan D’ALMEIDA in the activities of the CSW in the United States.

Secondly, the Fund for Francophone Women is organizing a parallel online session on the theme “CHALLENGES – DIGITAL INNOVATION: The International Francophone Forum, the (hybrid) space dedicated to strengthening the Francophone feminist movement for more synergy between leaders, activists , activists and donors”. It will be held on Friday March 10, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. GMT on the event platform and via Zoom.

The parallel session of XOESE will offer a moment of exchange around the challenges and opportunities for innovation available to imagine and co-create safe and inclusive spaces for activists, decision-makers and donors.
We will start from the model initiated by XOESE in 2021, the 100% virtual International Francophone Forum, a space to focus on building the movement, strong in the conviction that collective action, generative power and interdependence are essential to eliminate systemic barriers to gender justice and women’s rights.

Feminist innovations to discover at this session.

We will have the great pleasure of sharing this session with two major women’s rights organizations, in particular the organization MUSODEV, which will present its Zero VBG application, a 3-in-1 application that informs, raises awareness and denounces cases of violence. Gender based. It was developed in Mali in 2020 by the Musodev association. In addition to French, the application is available in voice note and local Malian languages ​​(Bambara, Peul, Soninké). This digital innovation is a platform for expression that frees women’s voices.

And the organization African Women In Tech Startups, initiator of the FESTIVAL FEMME NUMERIQUE which is in its 4th edition in Cameroon under the theme “For an inclusive digital world: innovation and technologies to empower women and girls finally to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade”. With the aim of highlighting the challenges of access to inclusive and transformative technologies and digital education to accelerate the growth of women-led businesses within the framework of ZLECAF.
